What was the most challenging game you played?

Hey guys lately i have been playing a game called Dark soul's and one of its selling points was the fact it was the hardest game to hit the new consoles.

I have had a blast fighting my way through the game. Sometimes dieing hundreds of time trying new tactics and pushing my luck. But then agine on the back of the box it dose say Prepare to die! And i loved every minute of it.

I haven't had this much fun in ages a game that forces me to get good or i wont be able to do anything. Brings back memories of Vagrant Story on PS1

I was wondering if you guys know of any other good games that challenges the player like it dose.

`Have you tried Demon's Souls? I found it extremely challenging.

`The only game I can really think of was Majora's Mask, the time based puzzle game made it a long challenge

`I would have to agree with nerdling, After all these years i still can get to the ice temple, which in turn also means I am basically still at the beginning of Majora's Mask!

`any of the Rune Factory games, the sheer content vs time limits makes the game series one of the most involving in my opinion, plus there are so many story lines/possibilities. Rune Factory Frontier has to be the most complex because you have to constantly balance the runes all over the map in addition to farming, exploring dungeons/beating bosses/ wooing one of the eligible girls (still wishing they would make it so the main character can be a girl and pick a husband though)/crafting items, etc.

if you guys think Majora's mask timed events were something... well let's just say this game would drive you bonkers ^_^
